had a very very good stay for a superb vacation, glad i've chosen it. really enjoyed the way my family room was arranged with the best views, fresh linen plus the fridge. the location was remote, short walk to hiking and bergville.

Wonderful hotel, breakfast each day was exceptionally good and the location by the conferences especially at night was excellent. Location: the property was near to the restaurant, great walking trails, and Harrismith. There was a pizza restaurant nearby.

All facilities were within reach, no need to travel for entertainment
The breakfast was not good, they need to improve on variety since it is a buffet.

The location is quite remote, which is amazing, but keep in mind that the nearest market is a bit far from the hotel. the staff here is efficient and handled every situation excellently. 🌟.

Ideal hotel located right by the hill opp the reception, and the Drakensberg mountains. Beautiful and magnificent location with parking on site. Also, in living area of the chalet.

Tranquility, peace, serenity and the mountains keep bringing me back to the berg. Alpine Heath has all the required facilities for a fun family holiday. Horseriding and hiking always on the agenda of things to do. The All out adventure place , 5 mins away, was definitely a plus factor. Awesum paintball fun was had by all.
Gettn there tired and hungry after the long trip, to find that the chalets were not prepared for our arrival which was exactly at 2pm. Beds not done, untidy appearance of detergents and maids still in the units. Furthermore misunderstanding of the breakfast being part of the price for all members. In terms of the cpa act, Booked.net need to be clear and concise in their wording of their "special". A plus to ah. Was that they did not charge our family for the 1st breakfast, when they saw our confusion.

Great outdoor environment. Very friendly staff at reception (Genevieve) Good planned activities for kids and family. Safe walking trails. Price (through Booked.net) reasonable. Problems/queries attended to promptly. Good selection of restaurant/coffee shops etc. Polite waiters/waitrons and other programme co-ordinators - lots of fun with them especially around the poolside and grounds. Overall a great place to relax
Cleanliness of chalet leaves much to be desired. A little more time and effort must be put in by the cleaning staff to ensure a clean unit - this applies to from the kitchen to bedrooms and baths.

About 30km before Alpine Heath the road was under construction. Lots of potholes and stones.

There’s also awesome access to mountain biking in this beautiful area.

We loved the friendly atmosphere of staff, the location of the hotel, the activities throughout the day and the option of a dining room / restaurant and self catering. It was lovely to interact with guests but also enjoyable to break away and enjoy the privacy of our room with friends and family. The highlight of the stay was the horse riding outride with Johan who went out of his way to chat about the area and teach us how to ride a horse in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
The lack of information on arrival. Nothing about of booking and its terms ane conditions was explained to us at check in, as we booked through Booked.net. When I booked I was quoted my rate to include breakfast, but after our first breakfast were we only then notified that we only qualified for 2 free breakfasts and then presented with a bill for r600 for the meal. I found this rather enmbarssing in front of my guests, and after consultation with the manager the bill was reduced. The following morning was a similar incident, in that when we were advised the day before of the 2 free breakfasts and that the balance of guests would pay, we were satisfied that we would eat off the ala carte menu, but on arrival at the restaurant we were advised that the ala carte menu was non existant for that day. Quite odd!
